Psychiatric Services in the Hospital Plan

^PHE Hospital Plan for England and Wales,* published by the Minister of Health in January, has made clearer the future of psychiatric services and the mental hospitals. The plan consists largely of area-by-area lists?of hospitals and beds at the end of 1960, of developments under way or planned, and of hospitals and beds expected to be provided by 1975. However, psychiatric services, including those for mental illness and mental subnormality, are given regionally, except that psychiatric beds in general hospitals are included in the area lists.
